5 small/medium trees for Autumn interest.

Nyssa sinensis (Chinese tupelo) H10m S6m Tupelo’s are more commonly found in American gardens but are quite happy in the UK and actually prefer wetter soils, the Chinese tupelo is also tolerant of such conditions. Autumn foliage can range from yellow and orange to bright red.

Sorbus 'Copper Kettle' (Mountain ash 'Copper Kettle') H6m S5m Always good value for money, Sorbus come into their own in autumn, this cultivar has masses of pale orange copper coloured berries and bright orange/red foliage in autumn.

Malus ‘Evereste’ (Crab apple 'Evereste') H7m S5m Flowers profusely in spring but the real interest is in late summer/autumn with masses of maturing red/orange/yellow fruit.

Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy' (North american redbud ‘Forest Pansy’) H10m S10m Best grown as a multi stem specimen. Has deep red leaves throughout the growing season turning to bright red orange and yellow in autumn. For best foliage colour the tree should be planted in full sun.
